INTERACT WITH OTHERS
Groups, workshops, and retreats are great places to meet and interact with others who are interested in a more hands-on experience of learning and growth than some seminars and classes. See below for descriptions of each.
Some groups are created for support between people with similar backgrounds or concerns. Others are more of a "group-therapy" type settings where you can come to process specific issues with people who share them for 1-2 hours per group every week/every other week 5-10 weeks.
Many groups aim to create skills (e.g. learning to relax, feel more emotional control, relating to others).
Workshops are somewhat like seminars in that there is a strong learning component. However, in workshops, you will have more experiential opportunities to interact or do activities with others related to what you are learning about. Workshops can also involve creating something with others.
Retreats are meant to be healing. They can involve going away with a group of people who have the same purpose--to relax, learn to meditate, to heal from grief, and more. Retreats can also be for couples to get away from the frantic nature of daily life and learn to re-connect.
